G-1 Line Crewman Jacket MIL-J-6249 Reproduction — Orange × Black Checker

The U.S. AIR FORCE TYPE G-1, introduced in the early 1950s as an identification jacket for ground crew — the line crew. Developed for the maintenance crews who marshal aircraft, its black-and-orange checkerboard raised both visibility and the ability to communicate. Some Air Force search-and-rescue units also wore it on field duty.
Single-layer nylon construction, designed to be worn over a flight jacket such as an MA-1. It carries no functional role at all; it exists purely to be seen.
We set out to reproduce the original's utilitarian style faithfully, and to bring back the looseness and roughness of the period we have deliberately kept original details such as the fabric pattern not matching at the seams.
