B-15B MOD Flight Jacket

History, worn across the back.
The B-15B, the flight jacket U.S. Air Force pilots actually took into the air in 1947-48. It was the first USAF model to use a composite nylon material, produced under military specifications 3220-B and 3220-C.
This MODIFIED (MOD) version in particular is a special case, born as the USAF moved from piston aircraft to jets after the Second World War. To work with the new helmets, the fur collar was removed by hand during production and the neckline restitched; the modified jackets were identified by a white cloth label applied over the original collar label. A transitional designation even within the B-15 series, original examples are extremely scarce, and the MOD version scarcer still.
Which is exactly why we did not compromise. We began by going through the historical record, then worked backwards from original specification to develop every material, component, and seam. Aiming to exceed Japanese Houston export standards across the board, we spent five years completing it.
The right details, one on top of another, felt every time you put it on. That is this jacket's quiet authority.
