A short single-breasted leather jacket based on the reproduction of the Second World War U.S. military A-2 flight jacket, contract 23380, recut to suit Japanese and Asian builds. Snap-fastened shirt collar, flap pockets left and right, front zip, wool-rib cuffs and hem — the A-2 military details are all present. The substantial horsehide is dyed deep dark brown right through, gaining lustre and depth of shade the more it is worn.

■ Materials by colour

• Tea-Core Black: outer leather: horsehide (oil-wax finish); lining: yes; cuffs and hem: wool rib. *A deep dark brown (tea-core) dyed right through the hide, with an oil-wax lustre on the surface. Being aniline-type with no surface coating, it takes in moisture and oil readily, and shades and shine develop with scuffing and creasing.

• Black: outer leather: horsehide (oil-wax finish); lining: yes; cuffs and hem: wool rib. *A deep black dyed right through the hide, with an oil-wax lustre on the surface. Lustre and character build the more it is worn, and worn areas take on a three-dimensional look.
