1930 SPORTS JKT Half Belt Leather Jacket, Padova Tea-Core Black Horsehide

A 1930s sports jacket, known by the half belt set low across the back. It is said to have come from the English Norfolk jacket, a loose single-breasted coat with a belt, which turned into a leather jacket once it crossed to North America. It was worn everywhere as an everyday jacket in those years, which is why it is still simply called the "1930". A straight zip with a turn-down collar, three pockets at the front, adjusters at both sides of the waist, and the half belt at the back: all of that stays as it was.

The 2026 version draws on 1930s sports jackets and reworks the details. The old ones pieced the back together from several panels to save leather; this one has a back cut from a single hide. The collar points are opened out for an older face, and the collar is built with a stand on both the outer and the under collar on a modern pattern, so it holds its shape whether you fold it down or wear it up.

The leather is "Padova", a tea-core horsehide REAL SIMONS developed in 2023. The hides come from Poland, picked to a stricter surface standard (AA grade), with more oil and casein worked in during retanning. It is moist to the touch, supple, with a good lustre and a clean, even grain. The black is a dense finish over a brown core. Where it rubs, the brown comes through, so the years of wear become the finish.

IDEAL zippers at the front and the pockets. The waist adjusters and the cuffs close with custom carved horn buttons. The lining is a 600 g wool-blend check (60% wool), and the inside of the collar is switched to soft corduroy. A REAL SIMONS label in the same leather sits at the collar.

*The model is 176 cm (5'9") tall and weighs about 80 kg (176 lb), with a 45 cm shoulder and a 108 cm chest. In the black the model wears an L, a little roomy (in the seal brown, M fits).

・The surface carries no resin coating, so colour can lift or transfer while the jacket is new. The oiled black shows it most, so keep it off pale clothes at first. It settles as the rubbed areas take on a shine. A thin coat of leather oil or wax builds a film that cuts it down.
・Keep it out of the rain. If it does get wet, blot the water off with a dry cloth and let it dry naturally in the shade.
・Store it on a hanger that matches the shoulder width.
・Wipe marks with a dry soft cloth and feed the leather with a leather cream as needed.
・Keep it out of direct sunlight, heat and damp.

・Creases, vein marks, scars and unevenness of colour are part of a natural hide, not faults.
・Colour may transfer or fade, and the leather will change with wear.
