Jerkin Vest — WWI Reproduction, Horsehide

A reproduction of the First World War military leather vest (jerkin). Substantial mocha brown horsehide loaded with oil wax, with horn buttons and a moleskin lining. Lustre and shades of brown build the more it is worn.

• Black (Tea-Core): outer leather: horsehide (tea-core finish); lining: yes (moleskin). *A black in a tea-core finish, with the brown base showing at edges and worn areas. Lustre and character build the more it is worn.

• Mocha Brown: outer leather: horsehide (oil-wax finish); lining: yes (moleskin). *A substantial horsehide loaded with oil wax, in which shading comes through as character with scuffing and grain.

• Havana: outer leather: horsehide (oil-wax finish); lining: yes (moleskin). *A lighter brown horsehide loaded with oil wax, in which shading builds with scuffing and grain.

• Take care to keep the leather away from rain and water. If it does get wet, blot the moisture off promptly with a dry cloth and let it dry naturally in a well-ventilated, shaded place.
• Store on a hanger that matches the shoulder width so the garment keeps its shape.
• Wipe dirt away gently with a dry, soft cloth, and condition with a leather cream as needed.
• Store away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.
