Inspired by the USAF ground crew identification jacket. A visual accent for an MA-1, or for everyday dressing.
The TYPE G-1 LINECREWMAN IDENTIFYING JACKET (MIL-J-6249), adopted by the USAF in the early 1950s. Developed for the crews who marshal aircraft, its signature is a black and orange checkerboard. The high-visibility colours and check pattern raised both safety and the ability to communicate, and some Air Force search-and-rescue teams also used it on field duty. It was made to be worn over a flight jacket such as an MA-1, purely for visibility. Its role was not function but being seen by everyone.
The REAL SIMONS version upgrades this G-1 into a **reversible** vest, which makes it far more usable as everyday clothing. One side carries the original black and orange checkerboard for impact; the other is a quiet military green quilting. Turn it whichever way the day or the outfit calls for.
【About the material】
The shell is 66 nylon, which is both durable and good at holding colour. The fill is 3M THINSULATE™, light but genuinely warm, so it works as a vest in both comfort and function.
