A wool jacket led by a red and black buffalo check, based on the hunting jackets and motorcycle wear of the 1930s. The body is a heavy wool melton of about 680 g/m² with wadding between the layers, for more warmth and more substance than it looks. The sleeves switch to cowhide, a rough mix of materials that stands up to abrasion and wind. Vintage-style zips at the front and pockets, a leather collar, a buckle belt at the hem, and a quilted lining place period work details throughout. It has a presence no plain cloth could give, and will serve as an autumn-winter outer for years.

■ Materials
Shell: wool (melton / red × black buffalo check)
Sleeves: cowhide (leather sleeves)
Wadded / lining: yes
*The body is a heavy wool melton (approx. 680 g/m²) and the sleeves are cowhide, a mixed-material construction. It is wadded and genuinely warm, and the leather sleeves settle in the more it is worn.

■ Care
• Take care to keep the leather away from rain and water. If it does get wet, blot the moisture off promptly with a dry cloth and let it dry naturally in a well-ventilated, shaded place.
• Store on a hanger that matches the shoulder width so the garment keeps its shape.
• Wipe dirt away gently with a well-wrung cloth, and spot-clean any marks that stand out.
• Store away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.
