CLUB JKT Leather Varsity Jacket, Wide Fit, Thick French Sheepskin

An original leather jacket that carries on the sporting lineage of the American varsity jacket and mixes in motorcycle culture. It was put together around an invented story: a motorcycle club on the East Coast.

Generous through the chest and shoulders, drawn in with rib knit at the hem and cuffs, it makes a broad-on-top, narrow-at-the-waist shape. Raglan sleeves keep the shoulders free to move. Shirt collar, zip front, and a short body that stops at the waist.

The leather is French sheepskin, 1.2 to 1.4 mm thick. It is the heavier sheep leather long used for American jackets: it keeps the softness and the hand of sheepskin, but the thickness holds the shape and gives the jacket some backbone. Full grain, with no resin coating on the surface.

Two versions to choose from.

・Embroidered: an EAST COAST 33 patch at the chest; on the back, SIMONS in an arch, a CHOPPERS TOKYO iron cross, and CREW. Three techniques are used: satin stitch, chenille, and cut-leather appliqué.
・Plain: no embroidery, clean and all black.

■ Care
・The leather is uncoated, so the colour can transfer while the jacket is new. Keep it off pale clothes at first. It settles as the rubbed areas take on a shine. A thin coat of leather wax or cream builds a film that calms it down.
・Do not wash, tumble dry, dry clean or iron.
・Keep it out of the rain. If it does get wet, blot the water off with a dry cloth and let it dry naturally in the shade.
・Store it on a hanger that matches the shoulder width.
・Wipe marks with a dry soft cloth and feed the leather with a leather cream as needed.
・Keep it out of direct sunlight, heat and damp.

■ About natural leather
・Creases, vein marks, scars and unevenness of colour are part of a natural hide, not faults.
・Colour may transfer or fade, and the leather will change with wear.
・Every piece looks slightly different.
