SIMONS Racing Team Varsity Jacket, Wool Body, Tea-Core Cowhide Sleeves

A jacket to remember the day the REAL SIMONS team (Shanghai and Tokyo) raced on the beach. That invented story is carried on the short, wide shape of the American school varsity jacket. Development started in March and went through three rounds of samples: this is the first SIMONS wool jacket with leather sleeves.

The body is a heavy 28 oz wool (wool 80/20); the sleeves are 1.2 mm tea-core cowhide. The grain is left intact, and as it wears, the brown core starts to show where it rubs. Collar, cuffs and hem are a heavy wool-blend 2x2 rib. The padding is 3M THINSULATE and the lining is a glossy heavy Japanese fabric, quilted. YKK snaps.

Two versions to choose from.

・Embroidered: an SMS patch and Genuine PARTS & ACCESSORIES at the chest; patches of a piston, a speedometer, a winged wheel, chequered flags and more on the sleeves; a CHOPPERS TOKYO iron cross on the back. Chenille and chain-stitch embroidery.
・Plain: only the Genuine PARTS & ACCESSORIES embroidery at the chest, clean and simple.

■ Care
・Do not wash, tumble dry or iron.
・Keep it out of the rain. If it does get wet, blot the water off with a dry cloth and let it dry naturally in the shade.
・Store it on a hanger that matches the shoulder width.
・Wipe marks on the leather sleeves with a dry soft cloth and feed them with a leather cream as needed.
・Keep it out of direct sunlight, heat and damp.

■ About natural leather
・Creases, vein marks, scars and unevenness of colour are part of a natural hide, not faults.
・Colour may transfer or fade, and the leather will change with wear.
・Every piece looks slightly different.
