Leather Chore Coat — Calfskin Coverall Work Jacket

A four-pocket work jacket (chore coat) based on 1950s American workwear. The main material is a top-grain water-dyed calfskin, whose signatures are a natural, barely finished colour and a soft lustre. Four patch pockets placed asymmetrically, a corduroy stand collar, and snap buttons at the front carry the rough, practical details of American work clothing. A quilted lining inside makes it easy to throw on, and it will keep for years.

Character of the material:
The pores are clearly visible, and the leather takes in water and oil readily. It is finished in its original colour, hard-wearing and slow to lose colour.
As it is unfinished, it is neither waterproof nor rain-resistant. Take particular care with water early on.
Water-dyed, so it can be worn as it is. The material settles in and gains character the more it is worn.
As the leather takes up perspiration and oils through wear, it develops a natural patina.

• Take care to keep the leather away from rain and water. If it does get wet, blot the moisture off promptly with a dry cloth and let it dry naturally in a well-ventilated, shaded place.
• Store on a hanger that matches the shoulder width so the garment keeps its shape.
• Wipe dirt away gently with a dry, soft cloth, and condition with a leather cream as needed.
• Store away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.
