In May 1942 the USAAF ordered the A-2 leather flight jacket 42-18775-P. Fifty thousand were produced by the distinguished AERO CLOTHING COMPANY of the day — one of the final lots of the A-2 contract. Square-cornered patch pockets, mustard lining, dark brown leather with brick-red wool ribbing: the definitive military leather that sat on the shoulders of wartime USAAF pilots.
【About the material】
The shell is Laidlaw special goatskin, developed in-house by REAL SIMONS in 2025. It carries a large, vintage-feeling grain and a substantial, convincing fibre quality, yet is softer and more comfortable to wear than horsehide. A heavy oil-wax finish gives it excellent body, so it holds a clean silhouette without ever looking bulky.
