Miniature Padded Riders Jacket, Salesman Sample, Full Grain Goatskin

In the first half of the twentieth century, travelling salesmen in America carried scaled-down samples from shop to shop, showing the goods and taking orders. A salesman sample was small, but its material, its construction and its details were made as faithfully as the full-size garment.

That idea is where this piece comes from: our padded riders jacket, shrunk down. It is built on a 1950s motorcycle racing jacket model, with the quilted reinforcement at the shoulders and elbows, the zippers, the brand label and the care label all reproduced as they are on the full-size leather jacket. Every zipper is real metal hardware and actually opens and closes.

The leather is full grain goatskin, tanned in our own house, in a heavy charcoal black. Each one is hand sewn.

Only the size was made small. Everything else is built as a real riders jacket.

・Wipe marks with a dry soft cloth.
・Keep it dry. If it does get wet, blot the water off with a dry cloth and let it dry naturally in the shade.

・Creases, vein marks, scars and unevenness of colour are part of a natural hide, not faults.
・Every piece looks slightly different.
