JS02 Single Leather Jacket — Straight Zip, Horsehide

A short leather jacket with a straight zip and stand collar, built on 1930s work jackets. A standing collar, chest zip pockets with bead-chain pulls, and side adjusters at the back pull the classic details together tightly. The full vegetable-tanned, uncoated natural horsehide has one great attraction above all: it grows towards amber the more it is worn. A light short silhouette that is easy to throw on in spring and autumn.

Character of the material:
The pores are clearly visible, and the leather takes in water and oil readily. It is finished in its original colour, hard-wearing and slow to lose colour.
As it is unfinished, it is neither waterproof nor rain-resistant. Take particular care with water early on.
Water-dyed, so it can be worn as it is. The material settles in and gains character the more it is worn.
As the leather takes up perspiration and oils through wear, it develops a natural patina.

• Natural: outer leather: horsehide (full vegetable-tanned, uncoated natural); lining: yes. *An uncoated natural horsehide tanned with vegetable tannins. Sun and the oils from your hands deepen it into amber, giving a one-of-a-kind character achieved with no dye or pigment. Take care with colour transfer and water early on.

• Tea-Core Black: outer leather: horsehide (oil-wax finish); lining: yes. *A tea-core horsehide dyed right through, with a deep oil-wax lustre on the surface. The brown base shows through with scuffing and flexing, growing into a shaded character of its own.

• Take care to keep the leather away from rain and water. If it does get wet, blot the moisture off promptly with a dry cloth and let it dry naturally in a well-ventilated, shaded place.
• Store on a hanger that matches the shoulder width so the garment keeps its shape.
• Wipe dirt away gently with a dry, soft cloth, and condition with a leather cream as needed.
• Store away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.
