GRIZZLY JACKET Mountain Fur Jacket — Merino Wool Pile, Havana, 1930s

A mouton-pile jacket recreating the classic 1930s GRIZZLY JACKET. Deep merino wool pile runs across the front body and the collar, while the sleeves and body are cut from horsehide. This one is finished in a deep Havana — a bright, reddish brown — with the clarity of colour that only water dyeing gives.

Outer leather: horsehide (our own “Padova” — full vegetable-tanned, water-dyed, uncoated, tea-core)
Fur: merino Laskin lamb (hide and wool in one)
Lining: wool

※ Our own “Padova” horsehide, full vegetable-tanned, water-dyed and left uncoated. Being tea-core, the brown core shows through at scuffs and cut edges; with no finish coat to hide behind, wear and shadow read straight off the surface, and lustre and depth build the more it is worn. Generous fur at the collar and front body with a wool lining make it a warm, hide-and-wool-in-one construction.

• Take care to keep the leather away from rain and water. If it does get wet, blot the moisture off promptly with a dry cloth and let it dry naturally in a well-ventilated, shaded place.
• Store on a hanger that matches the shoulder width so the garment keeps its shape.
• Wipe dirt away gently with a dry, soft cloth, and condition with a leather cream as needed.
• Store away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.
