Brakeman Railroad Short Coat — 1930s

A short railroad leather coat, built on the work coats worn by railwaymen and brakemen in the 1930s.
A fly front that fastens properly, stitch-reinforced pockets, and a stand collar with real body — functional details for working on site.
Made in Padova horse leather, developed in-house by REAL SIMONS in 2023. Full-grain top-grain horsehide dyed to a dark brown close to black (seal brown), a sober colour that is easy to wear, with marks and grain left in for a plain, characterful surface. Polish horse leather is selected to AA grade, and in retanning we add more fat liquor than usual along with a milk-protein treatment, bringing out a supple hand and a fine surface lustre.
A short silhouette that looks right simply thrown on, and goes as well with denim as with tailored trousers.

• Seal Brown: outer leather: horse leather (full grain, top layer); lining: yes. *A top-grain, full-grain horsehide dyed a dark brown close to black (seal brown). Deep brown nuances rise depending on the light, and the lustre builds the more it is worn.

• Tea-Core Black: outer leather: horse leather (full grain, top layer); lining: yes. *A top-layer full-grain horse leather dyed tea-core, with surface marks and grain left exactly as they are for a natural look. The brown core shows through worn areas, and shading builds the more it is worn.

■ Care
• Take care to keep the leather away from rain and water. If it does get wet, blot the moisture off promptly with a dry cloth and let it dry naturally in a well-ventilated, shaded place.
• Store on a hanger that matches the shoulder width so the garment keeps its shape.
• Wipe dirt away gently with a dry, soft cloth, and condition with a leather cream as needed.
• Store away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.

• Because this is natural leather, creases, veining, scars, and uneven colour may be visible. These are the character of a natural material, not defects.
• Colour may fade, transfer, or change with age through wear.
